Tamagotchi Pix

A tama that's a lot more well loved than I'd thought, and I do want to give more time of day to than I originally had.

I'm a very tactile person, so the lack of physical buttons while able to get used to, is some immediate points off for the device (especially when the camera 'button' is so satisfying to click)

I'd only ran this for a single generation before putting it to the shelf, but a lot of folks I've read and seen are pretty big fans of the gameplay loop and variety of it. I do like the idEA of raising a tama to then train in special careers and the like to then send off in the worl once completing their training, but I think the titular camera feature really downgrades a lot of what I have interest in tama devices for.

I love seeing all the unique pixel art and locales to visit, animations to experience and other artwork put into them, and with the crusty low resolution camera taking place of travel destinations and other game mechanics, I think that's what really offput me from wanting to spend more time with the device. I even more recently tried to run it again as of writing, but the lack of tactile buttons while they do work, still genuinely turned me away much more strongly than I'd expected them to.

Still though, hearing how much other folks do praise it have me tempted to at least try and give it another chance.~
